What to know about quartz selection
Quartz is a very popular option, for kitchen countertops, and for good reason. The ability to create a more natural, organic look without the high maintenance make it an excellent choice for many homeowners. Variations on white are the most popular style of quartz installed in our region, but there are tons of white quartz options out there. We’ve created a sampling of the best of recent trends below to give you a jumping off point before you start your search for the right slab.
The are five large brands sold in the Seattle area: MSI, Caesarstone, and Cambria, Arc Surfaces (formally Pental), and Stratus Surfaces. And, they each have public showrooms in the Seattle area so you can browse their options in person. If you are replacing your counters, stop in the the showrooms and see your options in person. They can also send you home with a sample of the selection you are interested in, so you can compare the undertones to your other finishes.

Popular Caesarstone white quartz options:
CAESARSTONE STATUARIO MAXIMUS
Soft white backdrop with semi-bold veining- the thick veining is interrupted by what feel almost like splotches of white, adding visual interest.
CAESARSTONE FROSTY CARRINA
For those looking for a subtle veining pattern, this is one of the go to options.
CALACATTA NUVO
Soft white backdrop with a soft, thick, veining that is neither bold nor subtle. Great for just about any home. There’s good reason this is probably the most popular quartz counter.
Popular Cambria white quartz options:
CAMBRIA BRITTANICA
White backdrop with soft gray veining. The veining pattern is quite bold, but the softness of the light gray tones offers balance, making this a great selection for those who want to make a statement without getting too close to on-trend now, out-off fashion tomorrow territory.
CAMBRIA TORQUAY
Off white, soft and delicate veining pattern. This would look amazing in a home with a lot of organic elements.
CAMBRIA INVERNESS FROST
Another subtle veining contender.
Popular MSI white quartz options:
MSI MIRAGGIO DUO
A classic marble look- a soft white backdrop with somewhat soft veining. A really great option for most homes.
MSI CALACATTA BOTANICA
A soft white backdrop with medium gray veining. We love the combination of thin veining and flecked veining. Classic and elegant.
MSI CALACATTA IZARO
Similar to Calacatta Idillio, but the gold veining almost outlines the thicker soft veining.
MSI CALACATTA IDILLIO
Dramatic style with thick, soft gray veining and thin, yet higher contrast gold veining. Would look gorgeous in an all white kitchen, or in a home with adjacent bold woods.
Popular Arc Surfaces white quartz options:
MIA
A great option for those seeking subtle veining. White backdrop and a warm gray veining pattern that drifts throughout. Lovely selection for just about any home.
AVENZA
This quartz has a very regular pattern to the veining, which is thin, and the mid-toned gray is neither bold, nor subtle. A great option for those that want something noticeable, but soft enough to remain timeless.
BIRCHWOOD
For the scientists out there- this one may be reminiscent of a slide of cells under the microscope. A cool toned white with a soft gray veining pattern that seems to wander in a more frequent pattern than many other options.
Stratus Surfaces
There are too many options that are offer a different approach to narrow it down, so we’ll show you six options below. What we love about Stratus is that some of their options are more unique compared to the other manufacturers, yet the still very much fit into the trendy styles.
LUXURY WHITE
White on white. This is really interesting take on monochromatic looks- it has veining, but the veining is another slightly different white than the backdrop white color, creating an extremely subtle and high-end look. It looks great paired with just about anything.
OXFORD WHITE
Among a collection of monochromatic slabs, oxford white is a simple warm white, but not quite an off-white. This is a great option if you desire simplicity, or need to calm an otherwise too-bold kitchen. There is not veining whatsoever, just simply white. If you like the idea of no veining, but want something in a cooler variety, they offer other monochromatic & plain white slab options too.
PRIME BIANCO VENATINO
White backdrop with flecked veining, and on the more subtle side of the veining scale. The veining is a warm gray, which pairs beautifully with the popular off-whites and muted warm paint colors we’ve been seeing over recent years.
CASCADIA
Although categorized as a “marble-look,” we think it gives off more of a modern take granite styling. It offers a clean white backdrop with a mid-toned gray veining.
CALACATTA REVERE
The most bold of our recommendations. This quartz has a higher contrast veining, with a simple white backdrop and dark gray, but moderately thin veining.
