Induction Ranges
KEY BENEFITS
1. Adjust cooking temperature on a dime. Just like with gas cooking, induction heating adjust immediately upon change of setting.
2. Induction heating surfaces are cooler to the touch— because there is no heating coil your cooktop is much safer to incidental touch after you are finished cooking.
3. Built-in safety— the cooktop doesn’t heat without a pan in place, so bumping the controls is not a concern
3. No gas, means no fumes or other risks associated with natural gas lines
4. Easy to Clean
5. Fastest cooking type
FAQS
HOW DOES AN INDUCTION RANGE WORK?
Induction ranges use electromagnetically energy to turn the cookware into their own heat source. It does require specific pans that are compatible, but this doesn’t eliminate that many options- stainless steel, cast-iron and some nom-stick styles that are labeled as induction compatible will work with an induction range.
INDUCTION VS. STANDARD ELECTRIC: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
Induction ranges are powered by electricity, and they look very similar to standard glass top electric ranges. So, what makes them different? Unlike traditional electric ranges, there are no heating elements at or below the surface. Traditional glass top electric ranges work by heating elements which heat the surface, which then heats the pan, which in turn heats your food. But induction removes a step from this equation by making your pan into the heat source. Energy is transferred directly to the cookware via electromagnetic energy. This makes your cooking for energy efficient, safer, and more responsive. While all glass cooktops as fairly easy to clean, because the glass itself is not the heat source, food doesn’t burn onto the glass as easily, making it easier to clean than traditional glass cooktops/ Plus, it’s the fastest way to boil water compared to all cooking types!
INDUCTION VS. GAS? IS THERE ANY SIMILARITY?
While the style of cooking is very different, many find induction cooking very enjoyable. Some enjoy the look and feel of the flame. And, in that regard there is no comparison. But, if your preference for gas has more to do with the responsiveness of the flame, you may find induction to be a perfect replacement to gas cooking. A couple of benefits of induction over gas: safer fuel source, built-in safety makes it so that you can’t accidentally turn on the burners without a pan in place, and you can boil water extremely fast!
