Facts and resources for Loyal Heights

Named for a daughter. Harry W. Treat filed the first plats in 1906 and named the area for his youngest daughter, Loyal Graef Treat. His Loyal Heights Railway ran a trolley out from Ballard (HistoryLink).

A school heated by the ground. Loyal Heights Elementary’s 2018 modernization added geothermal wells for heating and cooling.

A possible Neighborhood Center. Loyal Heights is under discussion as a Neighborhood Center in an amendment to the One Seattle Plan, which could allow more housing and shops in parts of the area.
